O Triatlhon iniciou-se no Brasil em 1983 no Rio de Janeiro. É composto de 3 modalidades esportivas que são praticados na ordem: natação, ciclismo e corrida.
Temos várias provas disputadas no país e mundo e pode ser disputado nas ditâncias:
O Treinamento para a prática do triatlhon exige um tempo maior de dedicação devido ao número de modalidades esportivas envolvidos e tempo gasto para completar uma prova. O importante é sempre distribuir bem durante a semana de treino, natação, ciclismo, corrida, academia, com alguns dias mais pesados e sempre com dia de descanso. O volume e carga devem ser também bem planejados e são fundamentais para o bom desenvolvimento do esporte.
Algumas dicas no dia de realizar a prova são sempre importantes. Na noite anterior já fazer um check-in de todos os itens e acessórios. Chegar cedo no local do evento, entrar com tranqüilidade na área de transição, preparando todos os equipamentos e deixando em posição favorável para rápida retirada. É aconselhável um aquecimento antes da largada, que pode ser um simples trote ou uma natação leve no próprio local. Já está 100% confiante e com sua estratégia de ritmo de prova definido.
